Littlehampton has a soft, easy pace. People usually notice the river Arun or the seafront first. Most of Littlehampton, though, is older streets and long rows of houses that have been here for years. The centre has the everyday shops and cafés, and a few minutes away it changes into quieter roads that spread out in different directions.
The housing changes as you move around. Near the river you’ll see older terraces and period homes, and over towards Rustington the roads get wider with more family places. Travelling in and out of the town is simple enough. Littlehampton station runs along the coast and up to London Victoria via the Barnham route, and most that drive end up on the A259 or heading towards Worthing or Arundel.
