Georgia Robins

Protection Manager

Hello 👋 I’m Georgia, one of the Protection Managers here at YesCanDo. I’ve been working in protection for the past 10 years, helping people get the right cover for life’s unexpected turns. I specialise in life insurance, critical illness cover, and income protection—essential policies that can provide peace of mind when it matters most. My role is all about offering free financial advice to make sure you and your family are protected in the event of death, serious illness, or being unable to work due to accident or illness.

What do you love most about your current role?

I love being able to genuinely look after people and their families. It’s not easy to think about the “what ifs,” but I’m here to make sure those hard conversations turn into smart protection choices. Knowing I’m helping people protect what they value most is incredibly rewarding.

Previous experience

Before joining YesCanDo, I worked as Head of Protection and managed my own teams in the industry. My background before that was in car sales—quite the switch, but one that led me to a career I’m really passionate about.

Georgia’s Personal Interests and Hobbies

Outside of work, I’ve been playing guitar for over 15 years. I love long walks, have recently taken to the gym, and enjoy trying new restaurants—Korean food is my current favourite! You’ll often find me with a book or listening to music to wind down.

Questions & Answers

I chose a career in protection advice because I genuinely want to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. Financial protection isn’t just about numbers and policies—it’s about helping individuals and families secure peace of mind, especially during life’s most unpredictable moments. I’m passionate about guiding clients through important decisions and ensuring they’re protected against risks that could otherwise derail their financial well-being.

Without a doubt, it’s seeing claims paid out and knowing that the cover I arranged helped ease someone’s financial burden during an incredibly difficult time. It’s those moments that remind me why this job is so important.

It’s important that every client sees the value in their individual protection, I explain everything in thorough detail and make clients aware that we work with the 3 products life insurance, income protection and critical illness cover because there is not one product that does all 3 things.

Case Study 1

Life-Changing Support Just Weeks After Taking Out Cover

One of the biggest cases I ever had that stands out to me was about 6 years ago, I set up a life insurance, income protection and critical illness policy for a gentleman aged 42, he was a builder and understood the need to protect himself despite being fit and healthy. Sadly he had a stroke two weeks after setting up his cover but the great news is that his critical illness policy paid out in full so he was able to have a stair lift fitted in his property and wheelchair access built so he didn’t need to move house in the midst of his health seriously deteriorating. He also had taken out an income protection policy which paid out too, he now has peace of mind that he will receive £2500 tax free a month until he retires as he won’t be returning back to work. Knowing that I financially saved someone after such a horrific change in his life is why I do this job.

Income Protection That Made a Real Difference

One case that really stands out involved a self-employed electrician who relied on his income to support his family. We arranged an income protection policy to make sure he would still have an income if he was ever unable to work. Around a year later, he suffered a serious back injury and was off work for several months. Once his deferred period ended, his policy paid him a regular tax-free monthly income, allowing him to keep up with his mortgage and household bills while he recovered. It’s a great reminder that income protection isn’t just about replacing your salary. It’s about giving you the time to recover without the added stress of worrying about your finances.
